Michigan PTA Legislative Advocacy Summit is March 20th, 2021, 10 am to 1 pm Please join us for our Annual Advocacy Summit. This year it will be a virtual program via Zoom held live on March 20th, 2021. This event is free and open to all members. Highlights include: Information on advocacy tools available from National PTA Update on Federal and Michigan advocacy efforts and current legislative issues. Discussion on public education funding and what can be done to improve it Communication and Information tools available to you from Michigan PTA Discussion on Michigan PTA Advocacy Outreach Day on March 24th, 2021 During the summit registration, there is a question asking if you want to be a volunteer for the Outreach Day on March 24th, 2021. To register for this FREE summit, sign up at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/7HJL99Z This year because of COVID-19, we will not be having a live day at our state capitol in Lansing, Michigan. We ask all local PTAs across the state contact their State Representatives and State Senators to set up a virtual meetings during March 24-21, 2021. We will provide a step-by-step worksheet for setting up these meetings and talking points for the conversation. Sign up to be a volunteer for your community when you sign up to attend the legislative conference on March 20th, 2021. While these meetings may not occur on March 24th, the goal is to complete them around this time. Please note, the Michigan Legislature is not in session from March 29th – April 9th.
